I majored in linguistics and literature in college, preparing myself for a lifelong career in the academe, only to retire from teaching a year and a half later. About a month ago, I was catching up with a friend online (the only COVID-19-proof way of catching up with friends these days), and she asked me if I was still blogging.
By now, more than half of this year has been disrupted by a pandemic I purposely chose not to write about… until now.
